Hindsight is a wonderful thing...
Taking on the responsibility of being a dog owner brings enormous pleasure into a home. There will, however, undoubtedly be hurdles and issues to overcome along the way. From childhood there have always been dogs in my life but after we lost Pip, who reached the grand old age of 17 years, we were surprised at the learning curve that 2 new puppies presented us with after so long a time with such a mature companion.
We have received advice from friends, breeders, books and our vet. These sources have been invaluable. I am gradually trawling through the notes and diaries of the past 2 years and will post some of our experiences here, including an account of our first trip abroad, in the hope that they will be of benefit if not of some amusement!
Please note that these are OUR experiences and depict what happened in our case and what did or didn't work for us. Our ramblings are not a substitute for obtaining expert advice in respect of problems you may have with your pet!
